Artwork commission Guide

Fine and Contemporary Artist Drew Harrison is available for artwork commissions.

An artwork commission is a unique, original, hand-crafted artwork created to your specifications. 

Before contacting have a think about your preferred subject matter, style, size, any time restraints, budget and shipping requirements. These all help with personalising your commission. Please note, a detailed Aviation painting takes far longer to research and paint than a standard Landscape or expressionist/abstract work and is priced accordingly.

Commissioning rate is calculated per square centimetre with the following as an approximate guide.

(cm height x cm width x rate = cost)

eg 60cm x 90cm x 0.30 = $1620

• Expressionist $0.30 AUD* per square cm

• Impressionist Landscape $0.30 AUD* per square cm

• Contemporary Art $0.50 AUD* per square cm

• Aviation Art $0.60 to $0.75 AUD* per square cm

Commissioning Process

Contact

Make contact and provide details of your proposed artwork (see above). 

Quote

Following this initial contact a more detailed quote will be provided, including associated costs such as shipping and estimated time of completion.

Agreement

When you are happy to proceed an artwork agreement/contract will be forwarded for signature. This covers basic rights between both parties in terms of payment, delivery, project cancellation etc. On signing, a deposit is payable.

Sketch & Design

Before starting an artwork, a preliminary sketch, generally in the form of a digital mockup, will be forwarded in response to your requirements. This can often take a bit of back and forth until everything is just right and approved.

Progress

Regular email updates are provided as the painting progresses and a final digital image when complete for your approval.

Completion

Final payment is invoiced and when paid in full the artwork is packaged and sent.

Delivery

Painting arrives. Time to display and admire for a lifetime!
